Preparing ordinary ceilings for repair.
In order to prepare ordinary ceilings for repair, you need to wash off the old whitewash and paint or remove the wallpaper. The whitewash is washed off with a brush dipped in warm water and cleaned by a spatula. First, its layer is soaked, and then scraped off. If there are cracks on the ceiling, they must be carefully cleaned. It is usually not possible to completely remove the old whitewash. The remains of the layer need to be rubbed and washed away with a wet brush.
Conventional ceilings need to be cleaned of the old finish, since otherwise the new coating will be difficult to apply. And it will be bad.
If after flooding on the ceiling there are stains, you will not be able to defeat them with whitewashing – they will take. So that this does not happen, the spots must be treated with the help of the brush by the bleach, which contains chlorine. This must be done until the spots disappear.
Each subsequent layer of paint on the ceiling is applied only after the previous layer is completely dry. If the ceiling was previously covered with water -based paint, it can not be treated before a new coating. It is only necessary to clean it from dust and particles that are poorly held, and break off cracks on the ceiling. Then the surface is covered with a primer and putty.
The old layer of wallpaper is well removed with warm water, in which the detergent is added. In order for the wallpaper to get wet better, they can make small cuts in them, then moisten the surface and put it for half an hour with this state. Then the layer of wallpaper is cleaned with a wide spatula. From the surface freed from the wallpaper with water, the scraper and brushes remove the remnants of glue and old whitewashing. Then the surface is putty, polished and primed.
In raw and impatient rooms on the ceilings and walls, mold is often formed. The affected areas must be thoroughly scraped along with putty. Then they are treated with a 20%solution of chlorine lime or antifungal agent. After the surface dries, ordinary ceilings are put down and primed.
