Funny names and surnames that we got from our parents

  • February 21, 2019

Surely, almost every modern person has in his circle of communication at least one friend with a funny name or surname.

Although, if many of us had the opportunity to radically delve into history or had a small idea of what means this or that name means, it is quite possible that laughter would not have arisen at all. It’s no secret that such ridiculous female names as Dazdraper or Dazhydia are only a manifestation of a sense of Soviet patriotism. Of course, such names bring many inconvenience to their owners, you can hear funny news about them, but they are not at all fun from this.

Who would like the realization that their own name is nothing more than a reduction from slogans: “Long live the first of May” or “Long live the meaning of the city and the village”.

And such ridiculous names of girls as Gryazina or quiz are actually more noble than playful subtext. The first name translated from Polish means “graceful”, the second is the same Victoria, that is, “victory, winner”. The Arab female name for nafig, in turn, causes a smile from those who do not know that from Arabic this name translates as “benefit”.

Another wave of funny names began after the general passion of people by overseas series. Registry office workers did not manage to register Mason Ivanovich and Diego Alexandrovich.

It is no secret that many people came across not only unusual and intricate names, but also funny names of people. Even the most solid bosses calls an involuntary smile a modest and shy employee named Koropysh or Vepr. And in working groups, over time, they cease to giggle over the name of the Terrible Boss with the surname Myshkin. In fact, many funny names and surnames do not give their owners of particular joy. Perhaps that is why, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, after a certain time, the registry offices of different cities reached out with the statements of Vilena, Vilords and Dazhpramam, asking for the change of their unusual names to the more familiar Victor, Mikhailov, Svetlan.

There are also completely “sad” options, like the surnames is an idiot, a club, scattered, etc. D.
