Charlotte is a favorite dessert for tea, which is prepared from apples and biscuit dough. For the first time, the pie was cooked at the beginning of the 18th century. And he got his name thanks to the wife of George ιιι – Charlotte, who was considered the patroness of all producers of apples.
In those days, Charlotte was prepared without special culinary processing, it was a variety of English bread pudding. First, apple syrup was cooked, in which pieces of bread were soaked. Then soaked bread was laid out in layers between which a fruit filling was placed.
Since then, the charlotte recipe has been transformed more than once. French, Russian, American cooks, changing recipes to such an extent, made their adjustments to such that the taste of charlotte became simply not recognizable. Today, a charlotte, like a pie with apricots, has a fairly simple recipe, but, despite this, the taste of the dessert can be truly called royal.
Charlot recipe. 3 eggs, 200 ml of kefir and a little soda, extinguished with lemon juice, beat with a mixer. Grind apples on grater. See the 2-3 cups of flour and gradually pour it into the kefir-apple mixture, constantly stirring. Add 150 g of sugar. Lubricate the form or baking sheet with fat, put pieces of apples there, then pour them with dough. When a charlotte is covered with a golden crust – remove it and cool. Put the kettle and call guests – a delicious apple pie is ready!
